Security VAS for Home
With the growth of IoT devices in the home CSPs are best positioned to secure the smart-home.
Protect the smart-home IoT and user devices to increase connectivity revenue by 10-15%
Protect the smart-home IoT and user devices from online threats, including IoT botnets, ransomware and phishing attacks, and shield families from inappropriate content. Allot enables you to deliver secure data services and presents you with opportunities to generate 10 to 15% incremental revenue from residential security services. Consumer security awareness and concerns are growing with every headline describing a new type of malware or victim’s story. Cybercrime has become big business, employing automation to increase the monetization of their nefarious activities. With the growth of connected devices, appliances and user devices in the home the attack surface is growing significantly, consumer IoT devices are notoriously insecure and can present an extremely vulnerable entry point to the home network. On the other hand, the consumer is left exposed with neither the time nor the skills to deal with the complexities of security and point security products, they want someone else to do it for them and they are ready to pay. Allot’s solution is based on a multi-layer approach that unifies network based security and CPE based security into one seamless CSP branded security service. Customers enjoy uniform setup options for comprehensive protection of different types of devices, hassle-free maintenance and comprehensive security on the network and at home.
Leverage network assets
Residential security is achieved through HomeSecure – a centrally managed thin agent that is remotely installed onto existing CPE. The client is designed to operate on existing CPE with minimal impact on CPU and memory resulting in less than 10% performance impact. Through machine learning techniques and visibility provided by the agent all the devices within the home are identified, a default security policy is applied per device and the home network is segregated to block lateral malware propagation. The agent also hardens the CPE against attack protecting it from security vulnerabilities that can compromise the CPE itself, for example, password strength enforcement, open port analysis and protection and unauthorized access control. When deployed with Network based security – NetworkSecure, a first line of defense is created within the operator’s network that provides in-line malware protection.
The unified service can be tailored to users’ needs, for example enabling child-safe browsing by allowing parents to determine the content that their children can access, as well as the time they spend online. Accurate web filtering techniques identify, classify, and control access in real-time according to individual user profiles. Allot provides industry-leading response time to new malware outbreaks, spam and phishing attempts. And it allows flexible customization of detection and protection levels, user notification and reports all through one multi-tenant customer self-care interface that provides a seamless customer experience. This flexibility extends to our solution’s scope, which is scalable to support to millions of users.
