5G is designed to bring faster speeds & lower latency for new business applications, such as autonomous cars, AR/VR, eHealth, and more. Customer expectations are sky-high but even enhanced mobile broadband cannot guarantee the delivery of 5G services at optimal QoE.

## The Need

As demand inevitably catches up with capacity, meeting SLAs and delivering high Quality of Experience (QoE) will be an ongoing challenge that CSPs must meet successfully. With the growth of encrypted traffic, the dominance of encrypted video, and the prevalence of VPNs, it becomes more and more difficult to distinguish between different kinds of data traffic. This makes it harder to offer differentiated services and to enforce corresponding policies that meet end-user expectations and enable higher-revenue, premium offerings.

  ## The Solution

Allot Smart can be integrated into the 5G core to provide its rich offering to operators who have migrated their core network to 5G.

**The 5G core** – implements a Service Based Architecture (SBA) for the control plane, which enables each control network function to interact with the other core network functions and consume their services, over the SBA bus via REST API.

**Allot Service Gateway** is located on the 5G User Plane and performs DPI functions on the user traffic.

**Allot SMP (Subscriber Management Platform)** provides the interface to the 5G Core Control Plane. It interacts with the 5G control network functions via the SBA bus, to receive the relevant information related to subscriber sessions, service plans, and policies.
