Solutions: Service Control |
|
Allot understands that service control and fair access are not mutually exclusive terms. In fact, intelligent control of traffic at the application level is the key to ensuring that every broadband user enjoys the level of service to which he/she is entitled. With Allot NetEnforcers in the network, carriers and operators are able to identify hundreds of applications and protocols, as well as user profiles, and to dynamically shape broadband traffic according to preset QoS policies.
Allot's Layer-7 deep packet inspection and classification technology differentiates between the different flavors of VoIP, P2P, streaming video, web browsing, and a host of other protocols. This makes it possible for service providers to prioritize and control the delivery of individual services – both for applications that don't know how to request a particular QoS from the network, as well as those that ask for more bandwidth than can be allocated at a given moment.
P2P Control
No matter how much bandwidth service providers make available, the increasing popularity of peer-to-peer file sharing and the growing size of the uploaded/downloaded files will cause congestion on the network. Infrastructure upgrades provide only temporary relief, while their cost cuts into operator margins. Allot's dynamic traffic shaping through QoS policies can be applied specifically to P2P traffic flows or P2P users, putting the network operator in complete control of how bandwidth resources are allocated. This is the key to preventing P2P congestion, reducing costs, and ensuring a quality experience for every customer.
